Our Business
Crucible has been providing project management and engineering services for infrastructure and development projects in Queensland and New South Wales for over twenty years.
Our goal is to provide valued, practical solutions to our clients for every commission.
We undertake a wide variety of projects ranging from small engagements for small projects through to providing long-term services on major infrastructure projects.
Our experience in recent years has included a number of major projects including the Kingsford Smith Drive upgrade project, the Chelmer Sports Ground off-field facilities development project, the Fitzroy to Gladstone pipeline project, water management for the coal seam gas developments in Queensland’s Surat basin, mining projects in Queensland and PNG and urban water supply and wastewater infrastructures projects in south-east Queensland and elsewhere.
Our People
Crucible was founded by our managing director Mick Varidel, an engineer and project manager with over 30 years experience in the engineering, design and construction industry. Mick’s extensive practical engineering and project delivery experience provides invaluable basis to Crucible’s consulting operations.
His engineering experience encompasses a large number of projects ranging from feasibility assessments, project cost/economic evaluation, approvals negotiation from government bodies and other stakeholders, detailed design and construction supervision, asset management and operational improvement.
He has extensive experience in project management, design management and technical execution of large engineering strategy and infrastructure design and delivery/construction projects with capital value of up to $200m. Mick has also undertaken strategic planning, feasibility assessments, cost and economic evaluations and planning for projects of up to $1.5b in capital value.
